American Nightmare Cody Rhodes sent wrestling fans into a frenzy with a cryptic tweet hinting at a potential return to NXT. As the action unfolded for NXT Battleground this past weekend, Rhodes took to Twitter to share his interest in the matches.

He particularly highlighted the fight between his old friend Ethan Page and Trick Williams. Additionally, the undisputed WWE Champion also suggested the possibility of making a surprise appearance in Florida, mentioning reconnecting with old friends and even bringing a gift.

On the June 10 edition of Monday Night RAW, it was confirmed that Cody Rhodes would indeed make an appearance on the spinoff edition of WWE NXT for Battleground which took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Additionally, he also received a response from Ethan Page while his appearance was a matter of speculation. However, now that Cody is on his way to the Black and Gold brand, it will be interesting to see things unfold with WWE’s top champion in the house at the Capitol Wrestling Center.
