GenAI Could Make Apple Watch a Powerful Healthcare Tool – Computerworld

Generative AI (genAI) capabilities added to the existing Apple Watch Health app could light the way for personalized, data-driven healthcare for Parkinson’s patients. The StrivePD app is being developed by Rune Labs, a California-based entity focused on delivering next-generation care to people with neurological disorders.

StrivePD has been enhanced with new clinical reporting tools developed by genAI that provide detailed data on the patient and their disease progression. Additionally, the tool offers patients, caregivers and physicians personalized educational content to help improve treatment outcomes.

What is StrivePD and how does it help?

The supposedly HIPAA-compliant reports, shared with patients via email, are structured to give patients a good overview of where they are in their disease, including summaries of medication adherence, exercise, and symptom fluctuations. The app also offers coaching in the form of exercise suggestions and tips on sleep patterns, and uses data collected by Apple Watch (along with information shared by the patient).
