Expats immerse themselves in Lanxi’s rich cultural mosaic

Lanxi, a county-level city in Jinhua, east China’s Zhejiang Province, is an ancient trading center full of history and culture.

From September 3 to 4, the city hosted a delegation of expatriates who embarked on an exploration of the city’s distinctive charm and cultural symbols.

They explored Xiali Village, the birthplace of Li Yu, a Chinese playwright and theatre theorist of the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), known as the “William Shakespeare of the East.”

International visitors enjoyed Lanxi’s precious Wuju Opera and discovered the city’s unique culinary culture through Youbu Morning Tea.
