City of Dowagiac to Replace Lead Water Pipes and Protect Public Health

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced a partnership with the City of Dowagiac on August 30, 2024, to help identify lead drinking water pipes, expedite replacement, and protect public health. Dowagiac is participating in the EPA’s Get the Lead Out Initiative, a program funded entirely by the Biden-Harris Administration’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to help the nation achieve 100% lead service pipe replacement. The Get the Lead Out Initiative will provide technical assistance to approximately 200 communities across the country.
