2 seat belt companies blame Formula 1 in Las Vegas for financial losses

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) — Two Las Vegas Strip businesses have filed a lawsuit against the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Battista and Stage Door Casino’s lawsuit was filed Monday afternoon, with both blaming the race for losses they suffered during last year’s road construction and race.

It is part of a group of several small businesses that say they have collectively lost millions of dollars.

A company spokesman issued a statement:

They demanded changes to the race to stop the return of the temporary F1 bridge at Flamingo and Koval. They claim the bridge will cause further financial damage.

Battista’s owner Randy Markin says each business is filing a separate lawsuit and a judge could decide to hear all the lawsuits together.

More documents are expected to arrive this week.
