What festivals are held in CNY after the fair ends?

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The 2024 New York State Fair has officially come to a close, marking the start of a new school year and the unofficial end of summer.

Even though summer is coming to an end and many festivals have already taken place, there are still some interesting events happening in Central New York.

Syracuse Irish Fest: September 6-7

Where: Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse

Syracuse Irish Fest features music, food, drinks, face painting, and even a unicycle. This celebration of Irish heritage features a wide range of entertainment for Celtic music.

Golden Harvest Festival: September 7-8

Where: Beaver Lake Nature Center in Baldwinsville

This old-school country fair is the perfect event for the family. You can enjoy fresh doughnuts, a pie-eating contest, live animals and more.

Annual Craft Festival

Where: 435 Main Street in Oneida

The festival will feature live craft demonstrations, artisan performances, live music, food trucks and New York State wineries.

Festa Italiana: September 13-15

Where: In front of Syracuse City Hall on East Washington St.

Festa Italiana will feature great food, with local venues like It’s a Utica Thing, Big Mama’s Cheesecake Company and Villa Pizze Fritte providing food and drink.

You can also enjoy live entertainment during the festival.

Westcott Street Cultural Fair: September 22

Where: Westcott Street from Concord to Dell Street in Syracuse

The Westcott Street Cultural Fair is a celebration of Syracuse community pride that has been celebrated since 1991.

The event program will include: food, live music, meetings of social organizations and many other attractions.

Inner Harbor Fest: September 27-28

Where: Syracuse Inner Harbor

During the Syracuse Inner Harbor Fest you can enjoy fireworks, dragon boat races, live music and carnival rides.

On Sunday, runners can also take part in a 5km run.

LaFayette Apple Festival: October 12-13

Where: 2444 Tully Farms Road in LaFayette

Festival attendees can taste everything related to apples.

The festivities will begin with an apple pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday mornings. You can also enter an apple pie eating contest and enjoy fairground food and carnival rides.
