“The ELI programme is a significant step towards achieving meaningful and sustainable employment for the youth in our country. We are committed to designing a programme that is robust, inclusive and responsive to the needs of the economy,” said Dr Mandaviya.

He asked the participating organisations to submit suggestions on the formulation of the ELI programme, emphasising the importance of their input in shaping policies that encourage enterprises to create more jobs.

Secretary (L&E) gave an overview of the components of the ELI programme and reiterated the government’s commitment to job creation. During the meeting, other issues related to employee welfare and employment generation were also discussed and a presentation of the proposed ELI programme was made.

Representatives from various employer organisations including CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, PHDCCI, AIOE, Laghu Udyog Bharati, ICSI, FASII, AIAI, AIMO, SCOPE and EFI shared their perspectives on the programme and other employee welfare measures undertaken by the government. Dr. Mandaviya assured the participants that such consultations would be an ongoing process and the government would seek their valuable inputs to ensure that policies and programmes are formulated in a manner that promotes fairness, inclusiveness and equitable growth.
